May goes into the history books and June rushes in like a Hungry Dolphin on a flying fish. And to recap, Dolphin get first mention two dolphin over forty pounds caught in May on the Hattatude, four over thirty and twenty over twenty pounds. Not too shabby a job by our fine anglers but that’s not all.
The Hattatude crews also managed two grouper over thirty pounds and an even half dozen in the twenty pound class. Although not as big, we fished an old spot I refer to as the hubcap and returned some beautiful scamps. The Tuna were there on the sea mounts but never any big ones. We also managed a ninety two pound Amberjack as well as several sixty pound classes.
All in all May was a good month with our anglers boating some beautiful fish. The prospects for June look very good as the numbers of Dolphin seem to increase every day. Thanks to all of our client and we hope to see you again. And Thanks to our support staff and to you Bob for your guidance, patience, and advice with you all this is possible

What we lack in active Sailfish everything else seems to want to bite. Snappers from the reef and the wrecks as well as deep water are providing some nice action as well as some great table fair. The king fish are playing hide and seek an they seem to very good at it . For those who are persistent the reward of a nice grouper might bend some fishing rod double over. Lately I have heard and seen some beautiful catches involving African pompano, wahoo, monster kingfish, giant amberjacks. There is more to come and fishing is going to improve, and I am so looking forward to my next trip to see what Islamorada can provide my anglers aboard the Hattatude and last Congratulations to Terry, Tammy and Kristine on their Triple to take home the trophy for the 2008 Poor Girls Sailfish Tourney aboard the Hattatude.

The winter fishing in Islamorada is off to a great start. We are seeing a lot of sailfish action along with big kingfish and mahi mahi mixed in. The best bet has been live bait under the kites or trolling.Look for the fish to be in closer with the strong winds lately. The winds are dying down and it is a perfect time to get out fishing.
