Islamorda Fishing Reports
December 3, 2008
Well here we go, Christmas lights on, home décor, Christmas trees, garland, nativity scenes, and so on. On the last month of the year, aboard the Hattatude we’ve got something to go along with your Turkeys, Hams, and the rest of your holiday munchies. Might I suggest a fishing trip…It’s definitely a great time.
We have been experiencing wonderful catches of Sailfish and Dolphin alike. Now I know you’re thinking Ron has flipped his lid (well maybe so), but none the less, here in Islamorada we have caught Dolphin into November, and some are still out there.
Kingfish started biting in September, are still out there and will be until March. As of December 1st, no big Tuna have shown up, but there are plenty of small ones for that taste of Sushi you might be hankerin’ for. And for those of you who like a bite of Snapper, might I suggest some Queens. It’s time for them, or maybe even some of the awesome Vermillions we’re experiencing. Or perhaps some Grouper, it’s your last chance for the most common reef Grouper, as the season closes on January 1st. However, you can count on Capt. Ron if you need that grouper fix. We’ll take you to catch some deep water Grouper which I think are better tasting anyway.
In conclusion, we’ve got to let everybody know that the Hattatude spent 2 months in the yard this year. She’s now in tip-top shape for 2009. We’re back and hungry to get you out on the water. So whether it’s to fly Sailfish flags, fill the box with tasty delicacies of the deep, to bend a rod on one of our many game fish, or perhaps all of the above. We’re ready and waiting for your call.
Catch em up for the holidays.
Capt Ron Brack
